Welcome

Hi everyone!  Thank you for viewing our blog, I will be updating it regularly!  The students and I have been discussing the two children who we are sponsoring this Christmas, and the students were saying today that they really would like to fulfill the wish of the children by buying a Barbie house for Sierra, and a bigger Lego set for Jordan.  A few students set off to research the cheapest prices, and they found a Barbie doll house from amazon.ca for $128.74.  The Lego set is $66.81. Both of these prices include taxes. In total, both would cost $195.55.  This would equal to about $8.50 per student.  I know that there are parents who have already sent in items, and we thank you so much for that.  Please do not feel as though you have to contribute to both.  I have provided the links so that you can view the prices online.  If you are able to contribute to these items, please send students with the money by next Monday. Thank you in advance!

Also, I would like to have parents come in for an afternoon of Christmas cheer by having a cup of hot chocolate, watching our amazing Christmas dances which the students have been working so hard on, and coming in to make a Christmas craft.  The date will be Thursday December 17th at 1:00 pm.  Due to spacing in our classroom, I would ask that we limit this to a maximum of only 2 visitors per child.
A reminder that students have a science test this Friday.  For grade 4's, their test will be on what they have learned during their science centres such as habitats, biomes, ecosystems, predators, and the food chain.
For grade 5's, they will be tested on the respiratory system, and circulatory system.
Thank you so much for all of your support, we hope to see you on the 17th!
We have been using some really neat math websites in class, and I will post some below for your children to access at home for extra practice.

Welcome!!

Welcome!

Hello everyone!  Welcome to our grade  4/5 blog.  I will often post any important information for both students and parents.  Also to come, I will be using the app "Remind" to keep parents connected to our class, more information to come soon!  The remind application can be used for any android or apple device, or computer.

Today, students were sent home with a form on a family whom we will be sponsoring for Christmas. This is not mandatory.  If you are able to contribute by purchasing an item off the wishlist, this would be greatly appreciated.  Once you have purchased something, please send it in with your child so that I may cross it off the list and update everyone.   We will put these gifts under our class Christmas tree and I will drop them off to CAS by December 8th.  Thank you in advance!

Thank you to Mrs. Massara today for coming in today and teaching us about Filigree art!  The students had a nice time completing the art, pictures to follow!

For homework tonight, students are encouraged to read and work on their book talks.

Have a great night!
Mrs, Prestia :)
